Incellah here,
Use this thread to ask and answer questions about places you want to go to and how to get around (buses/fares/options/safety).Mods delete this thread as late as possible and always make another once it's gone. I don't know any websites that help with shit aside from google maps like bus tickets or info or I'd put them here. We need to sort of establish the OP text for the general like you see for alot of generals on 4chan's vg or pol
Tip: DO NOT reenter the metro gates with the intent of getting to the other exit without riding the train. I got off at Karwan Bazar on Pohela Boishakh morning on the wrong side (towards Farmgate instead of Shahbag) and I was already sore from walking a bunch so instead of just walking towards shahbag from the exit that I came out of I went back to the station and tried to enter the gate, when leaving on the other side it wouldn't accept my metro rapid pass card and the guard seeing my walking stick took pity on me let me pass without swiping my card. I got fined 100tk when I got back at the end of the day to return home. No excuses.
Yeah the metro thing where you can't enter and exit at the same station without using the train is kinda shitty. I know the change was made to counter the cheats but this thing needs to come back.
I wanna go to this Armenian Church in Armanitola with my girlfriend. But I'm really struggling to plan out the day. Since it's in Old Dhaka so I wanna try food from there as well and visit some other spots. Is there a way to go there with the Metro? Also suggest me other stuff to do there.

Puran Dhaka mane biryani date lol so you gotta end it on that lol.
As for the church go everywhere except the graveyard. It's disrespectful to the dead.
How to get there by metro? Get on wherever you're from and then get off at Dhaka Uni. Then you get on Airport Bangabandhu Avenue Paribahan/Dishari Paribahan/D.Link/Nilachal or just ask around.

Ektu bosti hoile shomoshha nai, girlfriend kinda based ashole hehe. But will have to try Nanna tahole. Honestly I've never really tried Nanna instead I've tried all the imitators of Nanna.
ei Puran Dhaka date e gele ektu pera niya Wari tei jaya date shesh kor. Peshwarain er khabar purai maal. I can't be asses to embed an image from my phone but check out their Murgh Makkhanwala in a reel or something. Nazira bazar, where you'd usually go to eat in Puran Dhaka, really isn't fit for a date. At least the places that serve good food. Not gay shit like Nanna. But if Wari is too far you have to try Kolkata Kacchi. Incredible.
And well even if it's not meant to be within the scope of this thread, since the title does say "travel" here's my question: have any of you been to India, specifically the Kashmir/Ladakh adjacent areas? I'm planning a trip here with my bros after an incredible Nepal tour last year
>> fr fr Peshwarain er khabar purai crazyyy. Bhai ogo nihari khaya toh purai kheiccha disi almost. And that freaking lassi afterwards made me wanna sleep right then and there. Actually going on a pehswarain date is also on my cards. I was thinking we would go to Baldha Garden first then hit up Peshwarain and then go about our day.

Bhai Baldha Garden e kintu kutta mara bhir thake usually. kono ek purnimar din gesilo kisu friend er shathe and I could barely breathe. also time tao kheyal koris

That's a tough one. Take any bus from Jamuna that goes to Rampura Bridge. Then take a Ramjan bus. After some gruelling hours you'll reach your destination ig.
Ei general er ekta standardized OP bake korte hobe. I got this from ChatGPT, make some tweaks and slap that shit on the next one.

- Conductors will shout destinations; buses also display routes (usually in Bangla)
- You often need to combine bus + rickshaw/CNG for last-mile

- Post start/end points clearly (area names, landmarks)
- Mention budget and preferred transport if relevant
- No vague “how do I go somewhere” posts without details

Not for Dhaka, though. I'm planning a trip to Cox’s Bazar with my friends on the 22nd of May. We’ll be back by the 25th, so I need train tickets. Considering how close that date is to Eid-ul-Azha, I’m not sure I’ll be able to get 10 train tickets. Do you think it would be a good idea to travel by bus? Note that our group includes four females, so safety is a must.

Yes. The longer you are on the road the greater the probability something will go awry. It might cost more but train is the way to go. I went to Cox Bazar when I was 10. From a Dhaka to a relatives place in Feni, and then from Feni to Cox Bazar. On the way back, we bused our way to CTG city and then took a train back. The reverse of the return trip, I suspect, might be optimal for your trip.
