I was trying to figure out why the load time was so fucking high even for boards that literally had only two or three threads. Sometimes the root page would take about four seconds to load.
After looking through the server deployment, I realized that the backend code was deployed in Singapore meanwhile the database was deployed in California.
I migrated the DB to Singapore and the load time for almost every pages improved significantly for me. Let me know if the site is faster for you guys as well.
- Country coding has been implemented. Now you can see banon's country code next to their user ID.
- We have transitioned from using Rust's standard hasher to SipHasher for hashing user ID. Rust's standard hasher apparently wasn't the best choice for hashing IDs as it was prone to generating a lot of collisions.
- A compression layer has been added. This should significantly improve page loading times.
- We have created a formatting guide page and moved on from the old mini wizard page. You can view the full formatting guide at /formatting-guide.
- The reply limit has been disabled. Though, maximum thread limit per hour remains.
